Woot, woot!

So you got married.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Bought a fabulous dress.

SLAYED the aisle!

You go girl!

Now what do you do with the dress?
Popular options include;
Trashing the dress…absolutely not in my humble opinion.

Please note that getting your dress wet does not constitute, in my opinion, as trashing the dress.

Getting it wet does not render it unwearable again.
Donating the dress…maybe to the right person.
The dress has sentimental value so I wouldn’t donate it to just anyone.
Perhaps a daughter, or a sister, or a really close friend.
Not just donating it to the thrift store where I won’t know the final fate of my designer SOTTERO AND MIDGLEY Adorae dress.
From the talented designers that created Maggie Sottero, the stunning fashion label Sottero and Midgley was born. The avant-garde styling, winning fit, quality and selection have defined the Sottero and Midgley signature to brides around the world.

No sir that’s just not good enough for the apparel I wore on the happiest day of my life, to date.

Doing a paint trash…

Again, negative in my humble opinion.

So I saw one of the housewives on Bravo TV put their wedding dress in a larger than life custom acrylic case that of course was uber out of my budget.

At least today it is, so I started doing research on alternatives and found I can display it in a wooden case.
I went online and did some searching.

Then one beautiful Saturday I went to Hobby Lobby and found in the clearance section a wooden jersey case on clearance for $20.
Gasp!!!
It wasn’t the color I would have preferred.
It was brown.

I had BAMF hubby spray paint it black.
Momma taught me I can change the color of virtually anything with a can of spray paint from Home Depot and the possibilities have become endless!
I took that bad boy out of its box in my girl cave closet and went to work.
Here it is.

It took several readjustments.
First for placement a few times and then for lint I had trapped in the case.
Umph.

And then VOILA!

Please note, this is hung up in my GIRL Cave.

A space that I have full creative and designer freedom.

Whatever is decided, good luck ladies, and gentlemen if you’re doing this for your wife!

Namaste.
